Up high, a railing is not decoration. Roof decks and terraces need guards built to code height, solidly anchored into structure, and detailed so they don't puncture the roofing membrane and cause leaks below.
We work with roofers, GCs and building owners on new roof decks, parapet-height extensions and balcony rail replacements, in steel, aluminum or stainless depending on weight and exposure.

Why Brooklyn chooses Angir for balcony & roof deck railings
Roof-safe mounting
We coordinate post mounting with your roofer — sleeper-mounted, parapet-mounted or flashed post pockets — so the railing doesn't create a leak.
Weight matters
On older roofs we often recommend aluminum to keep loads down. We'll suggest the right material for the structure.
Code first
Guard height and opening sizes are designed to NYC Building Code from the start.

Balcony & Roof Deck Railings FAQ
How tall must a roof deck railing be in NYC?
Guards on roofs and decks are generally required to be at least 42 inches high, with openings that won't pass a 4-inch sphere. Your architect's drawings will govern if the deck is part of a permitted job.
Can you add a railing on top of an existing parapet?
Yes. Parapet-mounted railings are common when the parapet is too low to serve as a guard. We anchor into the parapet's solid masonry or cap and seal penetrations.
What's best near the water in Coney Island or Brighton Beach?
Salt air eats plain steel. For waterfront exposure we recommend hot-dip galvanized steel under paint, aluminum, or 316 stainless.
Do you offer free estimates?
Send us photos and rough measurements by text or email and we'll usually give you a price range quickly. For custom work we'll visit to measure.
