Opening up a brownstone parlor, adding a rear extension or removing a bearing wall usually means steel. We fabricate beams, columns, base plates and connections to the structural engineer's design and coordinate install with your contractor.
Our shop is set up for the kind of steel Brooklyn renovations actually need: members that fit through a brownstone door, connections that can be field-bolted, and installations that work around occupied neighbors.

Structural Steel & Steel Beams FAQ
Do I need an engineer for a steel beam?
Yes. Structural steel in NYC should be designed by a licensed engineer, and most wall removals require a DOB permit. We build to their drawings.
How do you get a long beam into a row house?
We often fabricate beams in sections with bolted splices or bring them in through the front windows or rear yard. We plan this during the site visit.
Can you install a beam for HVAC equipment on my roof?
Yes — roof dunnage and equipment frames are common work for us.
Do you offer free estimates?
Send us photos and rough measurements by text or email and we'll usually give you a price range quickly. For custom work we'll visit to measure.
What areas do you serve?
All of Brooklyn, plus Staten Island, Queens and Manhattan. South Brooklyn neighborhoods are closest to our shop.
