Spiral stairs are how New York gets to the roof deck, the sleeping loft and the basement office without giving up a whole room. A well-built spiral feels solid underfoot; a cheap kit wobbles and rings. The difference is a properly sized center column, welded tread arms and a continuous handrail.
We fabricate the column, treads and helical rail in our shop to your exact floor-to-floor height and rotation, then bring it in through whatever door or window the building allows.

Why Brooklyn chooses Angir for spiral staircases
Sized to the inch
We calculate rotation, tread count and landing position from your measured height so the top step lands exactly where it should.
Built to come in pieces
Brownstone stairwells and walk-ups rarely fit a one-piece spiral. Ours are designed to bolt together on site so nothing is too big to carry up.
Indoor or outdoor
Exterior spirals are galvanized or powder-coated so they stand up to NYC winters and salt.
How it works
- 1. Call or text photos
Send a few photos and rough measurements. Most jobs get a price range the same day.
- 2. We measure on site
We laser-measure and template the real opening, stair or wall — Brooklyn buildings are never square.
- 3. Drawing & fixed quote
You approve a simple drawing, material and finish before any steel is cut. No surprises.
- 4. Built in our shop
Cut, fit and welded in our Dyker Heights shop by the same crew that installs it.
- 5. Finished to last
Primer and industrial paint, powder coat or hot-dip galvanizing — chosen for NYC weather.
- 6. Install & walkthrough
Clean, fast install. We check every weld, latch and anchor with you before we leave.

Spiral Staircases FAQ
What diameter spiral stair do I need?
Most homes use 4 ft to 6 ft diameters. Smaller saves space but feels tighter to climb; we'll measure the opening and recommend the largest diameter that comfortably fits.
Can a spiral staircase be the only stair to a floor?
That depends on the use and code. Spirals are commonly allowed for access within a single dwelling unit and for roof access, but not always as a primary exit. We'll flag this before you commit.
Can you build an outdoor spiral stair to a roof deck?
Yes — exterior spirals are one of our most common requests. We galvanize or powder coat them and use slip-resistant treads.
Do you offer free estimates?
Send us photos and rough measurements by text or email and we'll usually give you a price range quickly. For custom work we'll visit to measure.
What areas do you serve?
All of Brooklyn, plus Staten Island, Queens and Manhattan. South Brooklyn neighborhoods are closest to our shop.
