Ground-floor and basement windows are the most common way into a Brooklyn home. Custom window bars stop that without making the house look like a lock-up, especially when they match your fence and railings.
We measure each opening individually, build guards that are mounted solidly into masonry with tamper-resistant hardware, and keep fire safety in mind: windows that open to a fire escape or serve as a bedroom exit must not be permanently barred.

Why Brooklyn chooses Angir for window guards & security bars
Fit to each window
Every opening is measured — no off-the-shelf bars that leave gaps.
Fire-escape aware
Windows to fire escapes need approved gates that open from the inside without a key. We won't permanently bar an exit.
Tamper-resistant
Security fasteners and masonry anchors so bars can't be unscrewed from outside.

Window Guards & Security Bars FAQ
Are window guards required in NYC?
Yes in many cases. Under the NYC Health Code, building owners must install approved window guards in apartments where a child 10 years old or younger lives (and on request), with exceptions for windows that open onto a fire escape and certain first-floor windows. Approved guards must be the type that meets the Health Department's standard.
Can I put bars on a window that leads to my fire escape?
Not fixed bars. Fire-escape windows can only have approved gates that open from inside without a key or special knowledge. We supply and install that type.
Can window bars match my fence?
Yes — we can copy the picket, finial and scroll details so everything matches.
