Brooklyn's stoops take a beating: freeze-thaw cycles, road salt, rusted-out post bases and cracked brownstone where the posts are set. A new railing is only as good as how it's anchored, so we set posts with core-drilled anchoring or surface base plates sized for the masonry — not a quick bead of caulk around a rusting stub.
We offer classic picket-and-scroll ironwork that suits brownstones and limestones, clean modern steel for renovated row houses, and simple, sturdy handrails for one- and two-family homes.

Why Brooklyn chooses Angir for stoop, porch & exterior railings
Anchoring that lasts
Most stoop railings fail at the base. We core-drill and set posts properly or use stainless hardware and base plates so water can't sit at the joint.
Fits the block
We design ironwork that suits the street — historic-district appropriate patterns where it matters, clean modern lines where it doesn't.

Stoop, Porch & Exterior Railings FAQ
Should I repair or replace my stoop railing?
If the rails and pickets are sound and only the bases are rusted, a repair (cutting out and rebuilding the post bottoms, then re-anchoring) is usually cheaper. If rust has eaten through rails or welds throughout, replacement makes more sense. We'll tell you honestly which it is.
Do you work in landmark / historic districts?
Yes. Work on the front of a landmarked building may need Landmarks Preservation Commission approval. We can fabricate to approved drawings and match historic profiles.
How do you keep an outdoor railing from rusting?
Galvanizing under paint is the longest-lasting option. Otherwise we use a zinc-rich primer and industrial topcoat, and seal the post bases so water doesn't collect.
Do you offer free estimates?
Send us photos and rough measurements by text or email and we'll usually give you a price range quickly. For custom work we'll visit to measure.
